I like it. I always remember the phrase "pleasure isn't the same thing as hapiness". Pleasure is something you do and enjoy, but it's short term. I can game for 8 hours straight and have a great time, enjoying myself to the fullest. Will it bring me hapiness? Probably not.. So instead of constantly focussing on short-term pleasure it's important to actively work on long-term hapiness aswell. Should i completely quit gaming? No, of course not. But i'll atleast try to go the the gym for an hour or two for example, because that's where I get the long term benefits from :).
I did. I found it wasn't bringing me the experiential value but I was using it to avoid. I stopped about 5 years ago and have since started a business, have a daughter I spend time with and built my Steemit account from dust. Sometimes I miss it and perhaps one day i will play again but, not yet as I am not where I want to be in some many ways and gaming doesn't support that for me.
Well kudo's for that, since such a change in daily habits requires a lot of perseverance and mentality overall. It's all about life choices, and I'm sure the things you spend your time on now are simply much more rewarding long-term, and that's what matters in the end :)
