RE: Will steem blockchain be the future of porn and adult publications ?

in #photo7 years ago

You know, I'm not sure about that. If you're an open-minded person who approaches EVERYTHING with a different eye, then your family and friends won't be surprised to know your views on these finer points. So what if someone knows I like looking at naked females? Should that be any surprise? On the other hand, since so many people aren't honest with themselves, much less their family and friends, that's another matter altogether.

Sort:

The important part is, that it isn't only about family and friends. The content in the blockchain is public, easy to analyze and undeletable. That's a very explosive mixture!
(And this also doesn't only concern porn, but anything you ever write on steemit. )

You don't want everybody to know everything. Most of all not something intimate.
It may be ok if your friends know, it might be ok if your family knows, but is it ok if your neighbour knows? Your date who you just met? Every potential company where you would like to work? Your co-workers? Your clients? Your subordinates?

Want an example?
What if you have a leading position in a company with many female subordinates.
Would they feel comfortable around you if you often watch and like (fake) rape-porn?

This of course exaggerated, but I think it helps to bring my point across.

How many people do you know their real Identity on Steemit? moreover, there is no home for rape or child porn here because the steemit community will chase them out with downvotes...few tried and were destroyed here and the accounts compromised. I am not a fan of Porn but see its future on decentralised platforms like steemit...and yes, I like seeing beautiful women

I know a few, here in Germany there are even meetups at some cities so we get to know each other :)
Also a few people in real life know my nickname and my blog here.

there is no hoe for rape or child porn here because the steemit community will chase them out with downvotes

This is of course correct and thankfully so. But that wasn't my point here really. This was only an example to make clear that not everything is accepted and wouldn't matter if anybody else knows. It hasn't to be this extreme though. My point here is that there isn't a very clear line what is accepted and what not. Can be any kind of fetish really. Or even just how often you do watch porn in general.

Good points however steem blockchain is open for diversity and that is the key...this includes adult porns and publications like playboy . I am from Germany too hahaha and understand your view points however accepting that diversity leads to more growth is the key and steem is decentralised and uncensored hence why such adult channels will surely come...see some mentioned here like @dporn

Ever looked at dporn? ( I of course only did for research purposes ;P )

The rewards there are very small and there aren't many videos either because of this.

And I don't see reasons why this would change in the (near) future.

So my point isn't that there shouldn't be services or accounts like that and I also don't think that such things will vanish completly. Its just that I find it very unlikely that these will ever be a majority. And also that one has to be very careful if using them...

Good point I agree. I will not spend my voting power and time there however they can do their thing if and only if thereit relates to adult contents only and nothing illegal.

You can know my real identity but I value privacy for those who want to lay low more and we should have that freedom to be public when we want and to be private but Facebook has been selling out data and more.

You're not wrong. I do think there should be user control over who can see what you post. That only limits the earner's potential, but then it becomes about privacy more than money...and that's an interesting balance too.

there should be user control over who can see what you post

I think this is basically impossible.
Only things that aren't required by the blockchain to work are possible to encrypt.

For example: You can't encrypt votes, the blockchain need to know who and for what you voted for, so that the rewards can be calculated correctly.
Another example: You can encrypt the memo text, as the transaction is only between 2 people (therefore you can use the public key of the other party to encrypt it) and it isn't needed for anything else.

About posts:
Well you could encrypt a posts content, but if you want to do that you could just as well use any other service out there that is more for private texting. Way more efficient and you don't have a problem once the encryption on steem is broken (or anybody changes private keys).

I am here long enough to know that it is not realistic to implement and will not work because remember that steemit is uncensored and decentralised...even everybody can see your transactions here hence the beauty (and for some the danger) of decentralised social media platform.

Good point. You explained it well, thanks for your comment
