It's amazing what you'll find when you take things apart. Things like a broken pencil under the valve cover and a broken bolt in the oil pan flange. Now I know why the oil pan had a small leak.
Here are a few before and after pictures of the valve cover and the oil pan. I know it's not the original colors but it won't be that kind of restoration. But this is a good looking first step.
