Hi Steemians! So the other night my family and I decided to go on a haunted ghost tour around the city of Memphis Tennessee😀.
Though most of the tour was met with sadness😢because the tour didn’t have permission to enter most of the stops along our haunted tour...but...we were able to enter of very rundown still functioning bar full of patrons enjoying a Friday night out...
Through the years, this building has stood tall, and carried many different facades. From a church, to a dry goods store, pharmacy, brothel, and a bar...if only these walls could talk😉!
We were told of ghosts that haunt this upper floor..ladies of the night...one who was pushed down the stairs to her death..do to an unwanted pregnancy!
To a young woman who was tortured in this very room..who managed to stay alive long enough after the attack..only to end up taking her own life in the bathroom down the hall.
Now the building is a dive bar where patrons can grab a beer, and wander the two floors looking for human...or ghostly connections.
Sitting rooms upstairs seem untouched by time..where patrons can sit and talk..mind you though the walls are beaten and there are holes in the ceiling..like the building is giving way to all the secrets it must keep..
So if you ever find yourself in Memphis Tennessee, grab a beer and join the spirits who still wander the upper floor of Earnestine & Hazel’s. But beware..once you enter..you will feel like you are being watched..and you will feel the weight of the sadness I believe these ladies of the night once felt.
