Antiques (from Latin: antiquus "old") are old interesting objects, such as furniture, weapons, artwork, and home furnishings.
There is no widely accepted accepted definition of how antique a thing is, but items that are more than a hundred years old can be called antique. [1] In the United States, the 1930 Smoot-Hawley Excise Act defines antiques as "works of art (except rugs and carpets made after 1700), collections in illustrations of artistic progress, works of bronze, marble, terracotta, pariah, pottery, or porcelain, artistic antique objects and ornamental character objects as well as the educational value that must be produced before 1830. "
Antiques are sold by auction and from collectors. Traditionally, collectors and wealthy buy antiques, but in industrialized countries, antiques are also attractive in people's storage.
