Random nonsensical photos of old items

in #photo6 years ago

Last time around I had a great post... this time? Not so much :)

Here are some trash pictures! When I visited family last week, I was astonished to see the old items in my father's work shop. So, I took some pictures. If you don't have a tolerance for garbage, then I need to apologize.

The house I grew up in

Sorry for the distorted print, I took a photo of a photo... etc...

Did you grow up with one of these?

It's a laundry chute! Throw your clothes in at and it ends up in the basement. Used to throw toys down there, as well as stick my head in there and speak in echo-tones! (I was just a young rascal, can't blame me too much...)

360°

That's a full circle! Good for skateboard and snowboard stuntz!

Seriously, how old is this stuff?

Judging by the packaging, it could originate from the 1960s. My dad really has collected a lot of nonsense over the years...

Blew a fuse? No problem!

It's extra laughable, because this fuse company probably went extinct a long time ago...

Some sea shells in a cool wooden box

They used to be home to a slimy snail dude, now they're in a cold, damp, dusty basement. Craziness.

Probably the original faucet!

Astonished that this faucet has lasted all these years. It probably hasn't had much use, to be honest...

Keep this secret safe...

I actually found the combo to this vault when I was a youngster and hacked it a few times. I just rifled through everything for kicks and then put it all back neatly :)

Let's file a report!

Well, I got pretty far into this post before my first bad pun!

Just a shelf with stuff...

When an item falls off, I can only blame my shelf.

And now... being straightened out by a sign!

I honestly don't remember seeing this before. If I had, I'd be more humble, hard-working and nice!

Oh the things I'll post for chump-change upvotes!

Can't blame me for trying, I guess. Okay blockchainsters, I'm OUT! Thanks for dropping by!

Some news real quick:

I have three dRama sketches made up for the upcoming week! Also, working on a few Steem commissions this weekend. Talk to you later!

Lol, I don't even have the time to post for chump-change upvotes. I wish I did. I have a gazillion flower photos to share.

I think that crate with the Lord Calvert lettering and seashell could be a vintage crate box valuable to home decorators. :)

My schedule is very demanding as well. Last week was a rarity, I think I posted every day... Difficult to do because I have a lot of goals in the off-line world too... :O

Best of luck with reaching those goals! I decided to decrease steemit time and increase family time. Loving it!

Your house looks almost identical to the one I grew up in. My dad has been saving junk since 1947... hes probably got 3 of everything pictured.. especially those antique fuses

I don't know where my father got the blue print, but he built it with himself and his bro's... Man I wish I had gained a fraction of that hands-on knowledge... Pretty small house for sure...

Wish he'd collected more silver or antiques, but at least I had a fairly decent upbringing generally speaking :D

Our house was 900 sq ft... my dad built his himself too.. I don't think they had invented blue prints yet back in those days

That oil can looks nice, maybe some collector would buy it

So many ridiculous items that are still useful probably :)

But the backyard is strewn with random things and the rodents (chipmunks) LOVE IT :)
