The Canadian Rockies is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that comprises of provincial and national parks from Alberta to British Columbia Banff. The Icefields Highway, connecting Jasper to Banff, is one of the most scenic drives in the world. Here are pictures that prove the Canadian Rockies Rock!
Who hasn't seen this idealized view? It's aptly called the twenty-dollar view because the mountains from behind the lake were featured on the reverse side of the Canadian twenty-dollar bill issued in 1969 and 1979. The lake reflects a distinct blue color due to it being glacially fed; The distinct shade of blue is caused by the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited at the bottom of the lake.
Athabasca Falls is just west of the Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park on the upper Athabasca River. It is a powerful and very picturesque waterfall. Athabasca Falls isn't particularly high, but the sheer volume of water it drops is beyond comprehension.
Fall colors line every view of the Trans-Canada highway.
A Flooded Meadow off the Trans-Canada Highway
Here's an interesting fact: The Trans-Canada Highway is the longest highway in the world and for most of its length there is alternative highways parallel that are also considered the Trans-Canada.
Wildlife galore
Emerald lake in Yoho National Park is your quintessential Rockies scenery. You can hike around the lake and it combines a circuit of a green glacial lake surrounded by mountains. It's less popular than its nearby neighbor, Lake Louise in Banff, but is equally beautiful.
You are never far away from wildlife in the Canadian Rockies! You will meet bears, mountain goats, elks, and caribou. Just a drive around the Ice-Field Highway will procure plenty of wildlife photo opportunities.
Vermillion lakes is a series of three lakes that are formed in the Bow River valley, in Banff National Park, at the foot of Mount Norquay. They are easily accessible in the Trans-Canadian highway.
The Bow River
The Bow River's source is from the Bow Glacier, which belongs to the Wapta Icefield. The surge from this source streams into Bow Lake in the Canadian Rockies. It streams south to the town of Lake Louise then turns east and moves through the town of Banff then through Canmore. The Ghost Lake supply is shaped upstream from the town of Cochrane. The Bow then streams eastbound to the city of Calgary; it proceeds to shape the South Saskatchewan River when the Bow joins with the Oldman River close Grassy Lake in southern Alberta.
Are those colors real? Photoshop? Is Peyto Lake really is that blue? Yes! The lake gets its color from glacially deposited glacial rock flour. These suspended rock particles give Peyto its distinct bright, turquoise color.

Beautiful pictures! I visited your website and I find it very interesting and informative. It would be nice if you put your steemit link on your website.
Great job.
Beautiful. I must say the nature has given some more attention to that region. Look at those trees and mountains. Anyone will be fresh in a moment when he visits that place
Yeah you pretty much never hear about the Canadian rockies. I don't think I have ever seen pics of them.
Wow AMAZING places ...I would love to visit them some time...
I was in Canada in 2017 in Quebec and it was very beautiful but we could not stay to much time because we where working...but still I loved the place.
Wonderful pictures @adnoisabril
May I ask what camera was used to take these photos?
I've been to the Rockies 5 times now. But I always went with a large group of people I didn't have enough time to explore. One day, hopefully, when I get my driver's license and a car, I'll be able to go by myself ^^
Canon 5d MKII back then :) You need a car there to get the most out the trip!
Thanks! It seems like many photographers use the 5D at one point :) Maybe I should consider it my next camera when I'm ready to upgrade. I currently own Canon EOS 750D.
Forget about "the camera" the quality of the photos usually comes from the Lens. Do research on the lens system you like best and buy the camera that matches the lens. Canon has a decent collection - spend your money on the lens, not the sensor (750D is more than good enough).
Ohh this is such a good advice :)!! Thank you
these picture really incredible very nice work keep it up
Greetings from Calgary!!!
I'm been to most of those locations dozens of times, but the one thing I learned from your post is the 20 dollar view, how cool is that?!? You have some serious talent with that lens capturing this gorgeous land we're proud to call home. Definitely going to follow your posts from here on out.
Thanks
thank you :)
Every single picture looks like a postcard. Great post and great shots!

Wow, these are some stunning pictures. I have always wanted to visit Canadian rockies but this time would love going over to Denver in Fall. May be next year will be Canadaian rockies after doing VISA formalities !! Thank you for inspiring with these picures.
Colorado is equally stunning!
Thanks for the affirmation, looking forward to the trip this coming fall.
Very nice pictures. The Rocky Mountains have so many beautiful locations to see.
I have so many pictures that I haven't posted on my blog yet. I love seeing what other people have to share. There's no way I could see every beautiful location in the Rocky Mountains in one lifetime.
This past summer we went from Edmonton, Alberta to Victoria, British Columbia. We took the Crowsnest Pass highway which passes through the mostly southern British Columbia part of the Rocky Mountains.
I posted our visit to Frank Slide. That was one of our first stops on our trip. On the way back home we stopped at Hell's Gate and Othello Tunnels. We spent enough time at Frank Slide and Hell's Gate but I wish we had more time at the Othello Tunnels. We were rushed because of our schedule. Unfortunately we had to return to our everyday lives in Alberta.
There's also a few scattered pictures from various photo contests that are Rocky Mountain pictures but anyone that's interested can just find them on my blog. I won't fill this post up with too many links.
Your photography skills are undoubtedly a few levels beyond anything I've ever submitted. Thank you for sharing.
I'm speechless...absolutely mind-blowing photography. Really showcases Canada's diverse landscapes and wildlife. Iv'e been to the rockies before a few times camping and hiking with my family. Monk lake is my favorite spot. I'd like to go back this year, it's been way to long! Thanks for the incredible post!
these are fantastic. the way my monitor looks at night it makes a few look almost like paintings. It must be great to stand in the middle of that scenery and snap photos. Jealous for sure!!
thank you
