You should visit the UK for abandoned mines, the Peak district, North Wales and the Lake District in particular have lots and lots of abandoned yet accessible mine workings, some dangerous some very dangerous, some walkable some requiring SRT and rope skills. I often visit the old lead mines and copper mines in my area and have travelled many hours to visit the slate mines of north wales! Check out www.go-below.co.uk
