Hiking Like Vikings

in #photofeed7 years ago

To be fair, I'm not exactly sure how hikings vike, or vikings hike. It was just a title that rhymed, so I went with it. And you're apparently reading this, so it caught your attention somehow. That's your fault, not mine!

Anyways, this photo was taken on a magical night up in Glacier (surprise) as we were trying to hurry up and get back to our car before it got dark. The other guys kept strutting, but I couldn't help stopping every 3 minutes to get another shot, and another one and another one. When you live in Central Ohio (#flat) you really learn to appreciate when land goes up and down instead of land that effectively grows corn and soybeans.
PS we did make it back to our car before it got too dark. Thanks for caring.

beautiful view, it is difficult to be in that place and have to leave ... in the photography every minute is a different story

Yes, it was hard to leave that gorgeous place. And yes, every minute especially during sunrise and sunset, every minute is different.

Makes me long for summer hiking!

wow what a natural beauty and thanks aweber for giving such a charming scene. if i were in central ohio !

Yes Glacier (not Ohio) is a great place for views.

Can't wait to stop here on my road trip from Alaska this summer!

Oooh tell me more! Where all are you going?

If I don't care who will? ☺

You're so kind :)

Imagine the adventure you might have had if you hadn't made it back to the car before dark.

We could have been eaten by ravens! Dang it!

Oh no, I'm one of the reader grabbed by the title!!! In any case, great shot ;)

Haha, got you! Thanks @asgarth

Last time I fall for the click bait!! Although you backed it up with a pretty stonkingly good shot, so I’ll let it slide!

This time!

In your face! And thanks, can't say I've been told any of my shots are "stonkingly good" haha

I don't think vikings were particularly nice to the people they hiked past ! Nice shot; very peaceful.

Neither were we! Boy, did we leave a trail of sadness that followed in our wake.

Scenery looks a bit post-apocalyptic thanks to the trees... Though, it's still a very nice picture ;)

Yeah, they've had trouble with forest fires there unfortunately.

What trail is this? Almost looks like the highline trail but maybe on the northern part of it.
It's not so bad hiking after dark in Glacier, unless of course bears are in the area, and a lightning storm rolls in on you.

I asked my friend who remembers every detail about traveling and what hikes we took, and he thought it was highline trail as well. Whenever I go on trips with him I let him plan them out, and have barely been disappointed. Only downside with that is that I don't remember the specific names of things as easy...But essentially yes, I do believe this is the Highline Trail..

nice pic! My friend If you like the photography you can see my profile too. i wish the best shoots!

Very nice scenery

Nice one love the setting, take a peak at my last photo and help spread the steem
