Tara is a mountain located in western Serbia. It is part of Dinaric Alps and stands at 1,000 to 1,590 m (3,280 to 5,220 ft). In 1981 it became a National park with 249.92 km2 area and around 83.5% of the territory is under forest. There is over 260km of marked hiking trails. I was here 4 times for a few days, and i can say that i seen almost nothing.
Drina river house
As always we were late with the start of the trip so after around 6 hours on the road we got to our accommodation a bit late. The place where we were staying is called Zeleni Čardaci.

the day was mostly rainy so we just went for a short walk
Next day the sun was shining, and the temperature was great for hiking.
should you drink beer on a hike? :)

Tara mountain is great because there all kinds of hiking trails. There are some that could last for hours and are not easy, but you can also see a lot of great nature on a trails that are not that complicated and you can get really close with your car. We had 3 small children in our "family" so it was important to find some trails to enjoy the nature, but not be that far from "civilisation".
As i said in my previous post, no really spectacular photos with great sunsets and sunrises, great light and view, but when you want to rest, barbeque, chill and drink, hike, hang around, something must suffer :D This time it was photography and sleep :D
What a lovely house! I've noticed similar houses in mountains in Poland. In Slovakia we have different style but this made me think of Polish side of High Tatras :)
I like this kind of trips. You don't need to hike like crazy to enjoy it :) There is a lot of greenery and nice paths for everyone to enjoy.
Your photos are as great as ever :) But this is what you know already :)
And yes, beer is allowed on hikes ;)
Congratulations on your curie vote and have a lovely Thursday!
Thanks.
Always wanted to rent a house for few days on High Tatras, from things i seen the place is beautiful.
Tara is really great because of that easy access trails, and it is still not over commercialized. it was vacation week because of may 1 (2 days off + weekend) but still there was not a lot of people there. On this one trail we met 5 people for 2 hours.
Mate those photos make that place look even more beautiful. Brilliantly captured.
Even your accommodation is insanely picturesque!
Must be lovely to switch off from society for a bit. I think we all need that.
I love that you can do these kind of adventures. I’d like to take my kids out on this kind of trek.
However, a tiny (tiny) but of me feels like some of those shots could be from a horror film - you know the kind; Isolated towns, deep dark forests, cabin in the woods...
Really ace though, thanks for sharing

accommodation was like from a movie. we even had a bit of guilty conscience for barbecuing there :D
i came home tired but the psychical rest and mind reset is great.
:) it is not that isolated, but maybe if you went out at night could be a bit scary :D
Hi @bil.prag, awesome photos. Your trip looks so amazing that I have the urge to do something like this in the near future. I see that you had excellent weather for the trip. Superb for hiking and going on adventures.
Your little cottage looks really cozy and comfortable. Where exactly was it?
Cheers,
Max
i think this period of the year is great for that, even if it is sunny, because when you go into the forest the temperature is just right.
the cottage complex (there are 4 of them) is called Zeleni Čardaci (Tara mountain, Serbia). Owner of this place is now building hobbit like houses at Zaovine lake (not far from here) and i think that will be really interesting to.
Very cool

Prelepe slike svidjaju mi se.

no "spectacular" photos as you say, but a true portrait of a beautiful family vacation and still beautiful photos! We, as hardened travelers, can not help but add the mountain of Tara in our list of trips to do soon !!
Congratulations and thank you for sharing with ushi @bil.prag
thanks. i feel that you will not be disappointed.
i will probably add more photos in a post, as a friend was learning basics of photography, but he is not still ready to learn editing :D , so should edit them in next few days
Hi there! I just want you to congratulate for a wonderful post. Everything that you have shared about this post is considerably nice and beautiful. The lush forest that surrounds the area, the meadow where wildflowers grow and the mountain views, everything is just perfect. I bet going here will really bring you relaxation and comfort. It is really a wonderful experience being one with nature, together with your family. It is just extraordinary.
I am also into trekking and I really hope that someday I will be able to go there with my friends and family. Cheers!
thanks.
the place is really great, and the great thing is that it is not over commercialized so it still has that wild nature feel.
i see you live close to my second favourite thing, sandy beaches :D
Yeah! I also love beaches and its only an hour ride from my place and you can enjoy them anytime you want. One of these days, I will be featuring one in my next post. Its been awhile since the last time I went there.

I don't know. I would say that it looks fairly spectacular. Such a beautiful setting and a great place to spend some time. A lot of the time all you really need is to get away from the world and relax which your post makes me want to do right now.
i can't say, the place is spectacular :D
we were there for 4 days and i could do 7 more with no problem :D

I've never been to Serbia but I've heard it's a nice country and your photos are confirming that. Looks like a very nice place, worth to visit one day. I love the forest and the cabin as well, it's very rustic, perfect for the scenery.
I always loved the mountains, better than the see. i can almost feel the fresh air just by looking ant your photos.
The Drina river house is very unique, I don't think I've seen anything similar. Is that for rent? Can I spend a night in that little cabin?
Lovely blog, congratulations!
there is great nature in Serbia. We have some beautiful mountains, and big part of them is still not that crowded and commercialized.
i was a sea person, not sure am i still :D now i think i am half half :D
i think you can if you don't get caught :D it is used by a local kayak club, not sure for what exactly. so if you get to it you would probably not be in great trouble if you stay a night there :D
I thought it is private property :) However, i believe they could rent it out for good money. I think there are plenty of people willing to pay big money for something like that but of course, it depends in what condition the cabin is in and if it has some permits from the authorities. Still, I thinks it's cool :)
Serbia is on my wish list :))
Looks like a great family getaway spending time, just getting away from it all. The accommodation looks really good and comfortable.
i could do with 10 more days of that :D
@bil.prag I always wanted to spend my weekend on a beautiful place like this one. Like that Drina River House specially, seems a perfect place to disconnect my self for a while from the digital world.
Happy to see that @curie is appreciating such amazing posts on Steemit.
