Thanks @macybetancourt I really appreciate that! I know it is a female because I use a bird book that shows the difference, for this specific species you look at the throat area, the male will have a darker band where the female has a lighter band.

Thanks for answering. In birds I recognize the male because it has a more colorful plumage than the female and the darker color at the peak (as you say). I can also know which is the female because she is bigger. But as there is only one bird in the picture, I can't tell. Regards
