  • Do you avoid reflecting on bad times because you consider them negative, or do you allow yourself to learn from both good and bad experiences?
  • Do you embrace joyful and adverse emotions as part of life or do you ignore the negative and try to focus on positive emotions only?

Great photo and quote. I cherish every experience of my life. The good moments bring me so much joy, and the bad ones taught me so much. I wouldn't trade any of them.

Thanks for answering the question :) I often wonder if we would even know what joy was without sorrow, or health without sickness, or prosperity without need. Etc.

Was just talking about this recently. There is a difference in wisdom and knowledge. We can know many things, but wisdom comes from reflection. If we experience, but never self reflect we miss the point of the experience to begin with. Nice share @countrygirl.

Exactly. Wisdom and knowledge are two entirely different things.

Knowledge is information we gather through instruction, observation, study - it's the just the facts. Wisdom is the ability to understand, or judge those facts (the knowledge) as valid, untrue or helpful and apply it to your life.

The difference between the two takes wisdom to understand ... lol :) Thanks for your thoughtful reply @innerstellar!

haha! Yes, I think we get each other. You're welcome. Have a lovely weekend.

You as well :)

Such a suggestive image and wonderful quote @countrygirl.

You can easily imagine all the people that may have sat here at some time. Slowing everything down, relaxing and pondering.

EVERYTHING that happens to us can be viewed as being another lesson we need to learn, on our way to becoming a balanced and loving being. ⚖️

Thanks @allyinspirt. You always contribute with insightful comments. I too think about the bums -hehe...who sat on the bench....and wonder what kind of people they are, what they were looking at or thinking at that time. Pondering is a good word.

Pondering is like being gentle with one's thoughts. Especially if we are reviewing what we may have felt to be 'bad times.' So much can be seen in retrospect. We have to be gentle with ourselves to learn and gain in wisdom.

I think it is bad if we ignore a whole side of ourselves if we ignore the pain and hard times. For this is when we learn so very much about ourselves. Fantastic post. Thanks again @countrygirl

Exactly. I agree :) Some people only like to accept the positive in their lives and deny the negative. Both are necessary and all the denial in the world isn't going to change the fact that both good and bad things happen. Did you ever see that Disney movie Inside Out?

Thanks for answering the question :)

You are so very right. Denying the bad does not ever make it go away. Just putting blinders on. And why so many want to forget the bad when we learn so very much from both good and bad. In every instance in our lives we are learning, adapting and growing. Great reference for the movie Inside Out.

Lovely photo and quote - You have a knack for that. Just remember, you can't step into the same river twice, lol

gee, where have I heard that before?? Oh, wait, I know - Heraclitus.

No, you can't step into the same river twice - the water that you stepped into is gone because it's always flowing. So it's new every step.

You've been around me too long, lol

You can say that again. 🤯

Good saying and of course good photography..

hi dear friend ,
excellent winter shot ! very good composition and mood. congratulations :)

Thank you for your input @artizm, I appreciate it!

Good photo and project :)

That's a lovely shot, very nice!

Great quote. Great Photo!

Is photofeed a tag for a specific use of can it be used for any photos?

Here's the info on the #photofeed tag.

Thanks, @gillianpearce!

Thank you. You're always a font of knowledge. 😁

I just came across a post you might want to read here It explain how the rewards are broken down.....ie the differences between SBD, STEEM and STEEM Power. I know this has been a hurdle for you so I thot I'd pass it on :)

Thanks @countrygirl. That was kind of you to remember. I'm still struggling and have given up trying to work it out. I just power up everyday, whatever I've got, leaving $2 in both SBD and Steem.

I haven't given up, given up but I decided to power up anyway until I get a better grasp of it.

It took me a month to work out that 1 Steem equates to 1 SP. I thought it was more complicated than that. And I was mixing up SP with VP.

I've made a note of the article so I can read it and it's comments thorougly later.

You're most welcome. All I can tell you about all this Steemit mathematics is to enjoy the blogging and social experience. The understanding of all things bitcoin and steem will come but if you try to understand it all before you get into your lane here you'll be frustrated.

I powered up too to get my slider and then to get my voting power up. Now I do 50/50 except when I make a mistake and do 100% (can't change that after you post - note to self!) I did that twice this week - argh!

I'm something alright! 😜

I love empty benches! They leave a lot to the imagination, so I use them a lot in my photography too! Nice shot!

Thank you Diane. I love benches too and I have so many of them! I'm a watcher I guess.

A bench beside the river must be the perfect spot for self-reflection :) Lovely photo, Deb, and a wonderful quote to match it!

By the way, why did you power up your previous 2 posts? :) It's better to have it at 50/50 whenever the price of SBD is above $1.

Oh I was on my desktop computer when I posted those and the default was at 100% and you can't change it once you post. Then I forgot and did it again!! lol. It's fixed now . I do this every now and again.

Thanks for having my back and for your comments Dan :)

Oh, I see :) You are welcome, Deb!

A perfect place to reflect on the reflection in front of you :)

hehe....so poetic :) Thanks @old-guy-photos.

I love writing and photos. I love the bench photo as it remeinds me of the bench I put in the park to remember my Parents. I actually sit there and think alot of the times. Beuatiful photo.

Aw. That's a sweet thing....a nice place to remember. Thanks for your comments. :)

This is beautiful! I love contemplative photos....and that's what this feels like to me. Great job!

Thank you very much .... I really enjoy your comments.

Thanks, I enjoy your photos so it seems we are a steemit match :)

Now that I am done this challenge - thank you for the great idea - it gave me focus for a time. I need another challenge. I was nominated for the black and white again....not feeling it.

I'm contemplating one for February....

oh ya? A challenge? or a personal one?

I'm thinking maybe a challenge...
