Most of Australia is uninhabited, so you don’t lack remote or abandoned places. In South Australia for instance you can drive few hours from house to house...from Port Augusta to Coober Pedy (over 500km) you will see maybe three small towns like this...so if you love secluded spots come to Australia 😉.
