Capture the Light
Canon T3i, 10mm, 1/60sec, f/8, ISO 200 [4416x2944]
The Windy Hill Open Space Preserve in the Santa Cruz Mountains is one of my favorite spots for taking landscape photos in the bay area. The Santa Cruz Mountains, and the coastal range in general is a great place for capturing fog in various ways. Sunrays can be hard to come across but when everything lines up correctly they are magical. It requires just the right amount of fog, at least one tree in the correct place, and a low angle sun. If you get too much fog it will block all the sun, and without enough fog you will barley see the rays. Everything came together really nicely when I took this shot.
