WOOF woof, it's MY day today. I am no longer always in the mood to walk very far. With my 11 years I sometimes suffer from age-related ailments and I clearly have my lesser days. But lady-boss always takes a good look at how I feel and really takes that into account. And today, today I feel so happy! Woof woof! I want to run, play, jump and act crazy. And yes, lady-boss gets it and ONLY takes me on a long walk. I really like that very much.
Taking a longer walk with my lady-boss in my own way. No Lana and Skipper busy next to me. You know, I really like them both, and it's nice to have them with me. But sometimes they are also a bit tiring because I have to look after them, and keep their actions in my paws. When they stay at home I can relax much more, and train lady-boss a bit again. So for that goal it's really very nice to go alone with the lady-boss.
ON THE WAY
I do my thing. I run forward and then back to lady-boss, I find a branch and that is really a painstaking job because not every branch is good. Can you imagine! The branches must be strong, but preferably not too heavy. I still want to be able to run with it easily. And they really should not be too light because then lady-boss cannot throw very well. So woof, you probably get it. I pick the branches myself and then take them to lady-boss. Fortunately, she knows that now. That took a while, but after 11 years she understands how it works.
She takes me on what she calls the "easy route". She once came up with that to indicate that it is a route where we hardly ever meet another dog with their human. And I like it. In any case, it means that I don't have to search everything to see if it is still safe for lady-boss. AND ... I know there is a nice big ditch. I will jump in there for a while, but I also thought of something else for today. It is true that I have noticed that lady-boss has started thinking too easily. She no longer watches closely where I stay, she starts to assume that I will follow her. And of course I do that. But she also has to know that she has to pay attention to me herself because if I suddenly want to turn left she must know that and follow me like a good lady-boss should do right?
As soon as we get to that nice ditch I first run up and down obediently a few times. Come back well-behaved and always show myself to lady-boss. And then I see it, she starts looking around and assumes again that I come back to her. Woof, this is going to be fun.
I jump back into the ditch, but this time I climb out very carefully and run a lot further behind the trees. After a minute or so I hear her woof, "Myla, Myla Mouse". But I'm not coming. A few meters away I laugh at her.
Lady-boss now walks to the ditch and is clearly looking for me. "Myla? Where are you?" I am smiling at it from a great distance and I am having a lot of fun. Lady-boss now almost walks into the ditch to look for me, looks over the path again but she does not see me. I'm hiding behind the bushes. Ha woof! This will teach her to pay attention to me. Come on woof, they say sometimes; A fox loses its hair but not its pranks. Lady-boss could have known that about me. I can see that she's starting to worry, she still hasn't found me! She's looking into the ditch again and I can see that she's really worried about me.
FOUND ME!
I should have known that lady-boss is not crazy, because of course she does find me. And of course I will listen to her when she calls me cheerfully. "Myla little mouse, are you there? Come on, dragon! ”. With a big smile on my face I happily run back to her. She understands me and also says, "Oh my little mouse, of course lady-boss will pay attention to where you stay". Completely satisfied, I now walk with my lady-boss again and together we start the journey home. Because after such a running and playing adventure I have had my fun again and I am happy when I can go back home to tell Lana and Skipper what I have done.
The last part we walk on a leash along the busy road home. I can stay off leash but always find it a bit safer to properly leash the lady-boss. Fortunately, I already taught Skipper that. I heard he does that well too. That always gives a slightly safer feeling. It is not that our lady-boss walks in seven ditches at the same time, but we have to be a bit careful with her.
Just before we get home, the lady-boss suddenly says to me "Myla, I think we should clean you up a bit". Well all woofs, I am a bit shocked ...
Well, I show my snout what I thought of that statement. And I can tell you it didn't happen either. When I got home I just walked in after lady-boss and jumped on the couch without mercy. I let her know that I dry up and get clean on my own. And after that announcement I lay on my side and there was no more discussion possible.
Wow!... What a breed!... 😊
Thank you, she's a Malinois. A Belgium Shepherd girl. And yes, she's a great girl.
