Thank you so much, Gillian! From what I've read on the Internet, it was a quiet invasion. I think Iceland didn't have an army, and just a handful of people tried to resist. I wonder if there are some Icelanders on Steemit who can shed more light on the topic :)

From what I read it sounds like the invasion was to prevent an invasion from the other side @irreverent-dan. But for the locals an invasion is an invasion. I suppose Iceland is in quite a strategic position.
I'm very glad it was quiet. It was otherwise or my Dad had been sent somewhere else I might not even be here. Now there's a thought! 😍
Yes, it was like that, and yes - an invasion is an invasion. However, the country benefited afterwards from the newly built infrastructure - roads, airports and so on :)
