This compelling black and white image shows a dramatic display of natures powerful convective thunderstorms. Perched over high ground above Sedona's Schnebly formation at the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon.
These beautiful towering thunderheads are reaching out and propagating additional storm development. Often building into large clusters that unload tremendous amounts of rain in a short period of time. The ancient sandstone formations of Sedona Arizona USA create the perfect setting for this type of stunning scenery.
Wow.. Excellent shot! Those clouds look awesome in black and white! Almost looks like a huge alien mothership or something, haha. Truly a dramatic view, especially with those mountains and buildings to give it more perspective in there too.
That's what I was thinking, its an amazing cloud formation. Thanks pointing all that out!
Really amazing scenery. The black and white effect of cloudy sky makes it more beautiful.
The high contrast is more dynamic in black and white. I really like the effect. Thanks!

The subject and the angle are always most important. Thanks for your kind words and greetings to you.
The sky retains different colors at different times.
Yes it changes a lot from different conditions.
We have a very strong wind. But I do not know how to photograph like that.
