Calm and peaceful the shoreline of Lake Powell is over 2000 miles long, more miles than the entire west coast of the US. The area is full of hidden canyons and amazing rock formations. Lake Powell is a man made reservoir and is held back by the Glen Canyon Dam. Located in Northern Arizona close to the Utah state border.

That is a pretty impressive shot. The golden colors really do pop on that, at a guess based on the amount of clouds just before sunset shot?
Its the light filtering properties of the atmosphere, specifically moisture in the air that causes color in the sky at sunset. Great comment.

Its a man made lake. The Glen Canyon Dam is 710 feet tall and was completed in 1966 after 10 years of construction.
Curiously, it looks like a melting iceberg to me. Very neat shot.
