I was inspired by these two women.
After they pulled their canoe from the water, they wanted to pet my dog so we stopped to chat with them. Apparently every month, rain or shine, snow or sleet, without fail they get together for a paddle. Whether in a river, or an open stretch of water in a frozen lake – they find the time to be together to be out on the open water. They said the paddle date was not negotiable, once they had set it – they had to show up.
In fact they looked forward to it, and made the time to be there.
The side effect is that there are no phones on the water. No technology. They have to work together, figure things out and just chat with each other.
Friends.
Making time for each other. What a novel thing.
But worth remembering to do.
My best friends and I get together once a year for a weekend to play dungeons and dragons, drink and talk. No families. Just us and the game. Go ahead and laugh... :) we're comfortable with our nerdiness.
Since we're spread out across the world, it's not nearly enough time, but it is our time.

well this was my last meeting with friend that moved to Canada
and you can't make time, you just do it. we all have to much excuses and i personally hate myself for that sometimes.
That looks like fun. Have to make the time.
These were beautiful photographs you captured, and a wonderful reminder of the blessings we have in our friends. Even if they are for the most part in other states, the time apart makes the coming together that much sweeter. I love listening to music, have a few drinks and simply catch up, at least that is how it is these days. Most are married and have children, so when we can't get together, we skype to stay in touch.
Those kids....always making things tough ;) It's true - but i'd rather see them more often.
What a beautiful thing. I am an introvert and very comfortable being alone so often undervalue my friendships. The few friends that I do have, I don't see very often, but when I do, I always wish for more time together, and realize the importance of human interaction. Something I am working on!
I'm introverted too. Those guys know me better than anyone...except maybe my wife.
I laughed because I love dungeons and dragons too. My friends are spread all over the world now. But just getting together and having beer was our thing, we also have a lot of musicians in the group so a guitar was always present.
I can't imagine us playing music. It'd sound like strangled cats.
With a couple of beers it would sound like cats singing opera!
