On top of the world. Larch Valley - Alberta, Canada

Climbing up to Larch Valley in the late fall is incredible. Before the big snows come. Some people come for the larches (that'll be for another post), but I come for the incredible views of the valley. You're surrounded by mountains in every direction. It's incredible.

One way it feels like you're standing on top of the world.

And the other it feels like the mountains want to trap you. If you look closely you can see the zig zag trail that takes you to the top. It's still a long way from this point.

If you ever have a chance to visit Alberta in the fall - Larch Valley is a must see!

Great photos, dude. Is this in the Canmore area? I definitely need to spend some more time there. Definitely neglected it when I lived in Alberta.

Thanks. More Banff than Canmore....but it's all pretty close. You should it's so beautiful.

Simply incredible!
When did you take these shots?

this past fall. right before the big snow. got lucky. i love hiking up there.

I was there mid September and got rained on, but is was well worth it anyhow!

Beautiful. I am yet to get up there.

It's worth a hike. Pretty easy...except the last bit.

Did you hike to the top of Sentinal Pass there, or go all the way up to the top of Temple Mountain?

Up to the pass. But I like the reflections for pics better at the bottom :)

Awesome! I love the use of humans for context/scale. Such miniature elements amongst nature's majestic giants.

It's easy to feel tiny here.

Amazing photo!

Thank you!
