Outstanding work, as always. I'm going to the opening of Formula Drift here in the US at Long Beach, California, in April, but I have no doubt that none of my photos will come out that good. Sadly, I will have a fence between me and the vehicles. You look like you're right there with the car in the 6th shot! Formula Drift does have some BMW's and American muscle cars along with the typical Japanese cars.
Well, you see, first of all i had quite a zoom... allowing me to choose the distance and different points of view. Other thing, when first cars passing the way, you can more or less estimate the moving pattern and to see where you can be safe enough :) And yeah, I was smelling the burning tires a lot, hah
I get close at the fence and end up with bits of rubber on me too. Your photos inspire me, especially the drifting and the long exposure/golden hour ocean shots. I'm gonna try more panning shots this time and keep following you for ideas.
Hah, sure.. though you know, I'm still more into portrait/fashion/nude :D
