My Icelandic Dream - Late Light in Rainbow Mountains

Hi Folks!

It was late when I reached the rainbow mountains - Landmannalaugar in the Icelandic Highlands.
I was late because the way there was so stunning I had to stop my car like hundred times to enjoy the views and take photos...

The final stop was next to the camping ground and turist information center Landmannalaugavegur.

In this post I will share just the newest photos which I processed recently.

I spent a night there on a parking space outside the camp but before that I took a late evening walk to the mountains.

This place is stunning - I wish to have a couple of days just there to explore the area much more.

Colorful mountains are amazing, harsh, young, volcanic landscape with smoking mountains where You can really feel the heat from below the ground... hot springs, smell of sulfur... Totally different landscape then everything else I have seen so far.

The path among the volcanic rocks with such an amazing views around is amazing. I remember the excitement I feel when entering this land - it was late so I was almost alone on the trail.
This loneliness helped me to feel and experience this landscapes even more.

It is hard to show the full beauty of the place on the single shots - so I also took a panoramic image of the view... big panoramic images looks great in fullsize on a big screen, it is a pity You won't have this opportunity to watch it like that - but I will share it anyway.

Definitely this place I will have to visit during my next trip to Iceland - when? I have no idea, but for sure, I will go back there! Worth the effort, money and stressful road ;).
