Norway'24 #12 - Long Way To The North...

in #photofeedlast month (edited)

Hi Friends!

Our next chapter in Norwegian Roadtrip 2024 was to get to the far North in 2 days.
From the position of Lovatnet lake in Jostedalsbreen National Park, where we slept last night (last post ;)) we had a plan to travel straight North and to take a short, one night break somewhere above Trondheim.

On the way we stopped a multiple times to capture amazing sights and to breath some fresh, northern air. The Road was long but EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL!

First stop was by the Water Power Plant, where we could see the full force of Norwegian river after a night of heavy rain.
Because of this weather we had to rent a cabin every night instead of setting our tents somewhere in the wilds... But the weather was EXTREME - and these photos are the PROOF! :D

More North we travelled, more and more amazing landscapes we saw outside the car.

From the moment we crossed the sign "Northern Norway" the landscape begun to look like something closer to Alaskan or Canadian-like open, wild, vast spaces... and it was really amazing!

There was no any bigger town from that point, only small villages and half-deserted towns.

Distances between each town were really long.

Dynamic weather created real magic on the sky and the light was beautiful for landscape photography.

When we saw this view with the road and the rainbow... we had to stop just by the road. The traffic was low so it was not a problem to use the road for a 1 minute, just to take few quick shots of this amazing vista...

This shot was probably the best one so far I took - for me personally of course ;). I love it.

It is the essence of traveling through Northern Norway.

We crossed the arctic circle in a Plateau called Saltfjellet - there is a big Tourist center with restaurant and shop as well as information tables and some monuments outside...

The weather at this point was really cold and we got really wet by sudden rain and snow falls...

Our visit there was short and we headed further up the North...

On our way, still being on Saltfjellet, we met a herd of Reindeers - these ones were wild :).
Beautiful animals.

When we were leaving Saltfjellet area, the rain stops and again, we saw an amazing rainbow over the open and wild landscapes of Northern Norway.

BEAUTIFUL!

A lot more places, shots, moments worth recording we saw during the drive, but the day was short and we really hoped to reach our next location - Rago National Park before the night.

Below You can see another stop and another amazing conditions I have captured.
Rain, light, moutnains, fjord... all of these created magical views...

This day we spent in a car, with only few, short stops to rest and shoot - but this trip was magical - I think nobody slept even for a while - everyone were looking outside the windows watching how the landscape is changing, how fast the weather conditions were changing, how amazing this Northern landscape is...

In final - we reached the destination, but the weather was horrible and we had to look for another camping ground and rent a cabin for another two days.
The cabin was very big, like a home, fully equipped... and we paid for it 135USD for a night (for 4 persons!)
For this standard, for such a place (Close to Rago National Park) it was a great deal, much better then sitting in a wet tent...

I will continue my story in the next post, so stay tuned!

Thanks for watching and reading guys :).

UNTIL THE NEXT ONE!
