Let's continue our norwegian trip from this year...
Just a reminder - it is a photographic story of our roadtrip from Poland to Northern Norway - Lofoten Islands. If You are interested, check out previous posts :).
Our main destination on this area was to hike through Rago National Park - which is the smallest National Park in Norway but one of the most spectacular!
There is only one path leading to the Park - one way in, one way out, and the whole trail kas around 22km - which is a very long distance in such terrain.
I was the only one from our group who didn't do this distance - I knew it will be extremely hard and dangerous to go there after such heavy rains in such post - glacial landscape - but others thought it is doable... and they had right - they managed to go around the park in just a one day but when I saw them after - I really wouldn't want to be in their skin. They were exhausted.
After the time I still think it was stupid decision to go on such a trail for just a one day.
Rago National Park is one of the wildest one, which mean there is no other way to evacuate a person then calling a rescue helicopter... other thing is that there is no any cellphone range...
During the time I was there I saw one rescue mission and it gave me a lot to think about my own situation as I stayed there alone...
Other reason I didn't go around the park was the photography - I wanted to stay by the biggest waterfall and search for interesting compositions, waiting for better light and conditions.
For me - getting a good images from this place was more important then run around the park risking my life ;).
The weather was bad! It was raining from the early morning. Sky was covered with boring clouds, landscape looked flat, there was no fogs, no patches of light, no shade, I was struggling to get the most from the views I saw...
