View from the top from southern Singapore

in #photograph9 years ago (edited)

Many people know that Singapore is pretty much a concrete jungle.  So, of course we have many tall buildings.  I find the views from some of the tall buildings quite spectacular.  In this post, I am sharing pictures which was taken from a tall residential building in the south of Singapore.  Believe me, these are not shot from drones. Only device used was a a camera phone Samsung Galaxy S6.

In this one, we can see othe residential building nearby including the tallest public housing, Pinanacle@Duxton, at the bottom right quarter of the image.

The second one here gives you quite a good view of the port.  Looking at the numbers of cranes and containers stacked up, I don't have to tell this is one of the busiest ports in the world.

The next one shows a broader and further view up the northern part of Singapore.

Here is another shot of port to the south from another angle.

Nearer to where the shot was taken, this shows the port is just divided by a highway to couple of commercial buildings.

Here, you can see more of the Pinnacle@Duxton on the right.  Incidentally, there is a sky garden in that buidling.

Moving further along the highway that divides the port and the other buildings, you can see how far the port stretches.

Touch these up with a little white balance adjustment - they'd be killer.

Crazy! When I lived there the harbor was filled with boats. People used to live on them. That was back when long hair was illegal.

wow, that's like maybe 40 years ago? we were 50 years old last year and coming 9-August, we'll be 51.

Yeah, I was a kid in the 70's when I lived there. Good times. Except I didn't like having to get my hair cut. I still don't. But it was actually a wonderful place to grow up.
