Almost my entire life I've searched for that place and person "to offer" me the absolute warmth, sentiment of safety and...why not the feeling of eternity. Mission impossible or should I say aborted. There isn't such place or person and I finally came to conclusion that "Life wasn't supposed to be smooth", at least not for me.
It is supposed to have a bit from everything, from the sweet and from the bitter, just that we can appreciate "the smoothness" when it comes to us. Yes, I believe that it comes to us and that we don't own it, thus it can slip through our fingers at any time. But when it comes we should chew it good because who knows when it hit us again.
Having this attitude I would have achieved much more in life instead of craving for comfort and a safe haven. Nature, for example, is before our eyes to enforce my today's post title and idea, as it is the very life itself of the planet... and it's not all of it smooth and pleasant to touch. Sometimes it's full of crust, hard to clean or peal, but still alive.

I don't know anyone who has had a completely smooth life, but heaps of people who have gained many lessons through the adversity they faced, the rough roads, lessons that have brought great wisdom, success...And more adversity. The wheel turns right?
The strong tendency though is towards smoothness, but bumpy roads seem to make good drivers after all. That's what I keep on forgetting.
Seeking a smooth road is ok, provided that one is prepared for the bumpy ones, or at least understanding that they are there and need to be dealt with also.
