Dear Steemians
I welcome you all to the 8th post of sequel exploring beautiful cities and places of Pakistan. “Steemit” being the best platform for the publication of the art is serving my purpose of showing the world the real beauty of my beloved Pakistan.
I am very happy that I am getting good viewers and friends. I know that Steemit is full of the talented people who just need to explore themselves, some have already and made their name in the community and some require a bit of hard work and persistence to grab the command over their talent and a proper way of revealing it to others. Even learning about Geography, History, Archaeology, and Architecture is part of improving education.
Thatta (ٹھٹہ) is one of the beautiful cities of Pakistan about a hundred kilometers from Karachi, located in interior Sindh. It has a large number of monuments that are worth watching and visiting. The Shah Jahan Mosque also known as the Jamia Masjid of Thatta is at the top of the list. It was built in 1647 during the reign of Mughal King Shah Jahan, known as "The Builder King" who also built Taj Mehal Agra. Although Mogul Emperor Shah Jahan was exceptionally extravagant. However, he left some of the most beautiful monuments for the people to come. This mosque was built as a token of gratitude from Shah Jahan for the people of Thatta who sheltered him before his ascension to the throne. It has overall 93 domes which makes it the world’s largest mosque having such a number of domes. Calligraphy on the mosque's exterior walls depicts the heritage of this area. It is a beautiful and fascinating place, which attracts tourists from all over the world. I along with my friends visited it and capture some pictures while traveling with DSLR(Canon 60d).
The classic artwork, beautiful archways, symmetrical tile work, remarkable calligraphy, brilliant red brickwork, and different styles of ceiling tile makes the mosque’s architecture distinctive and speaks of a fine example of archetypical Mogul style.
The architect’s true skill is evident from the glorious and amazing acoustics of the mosque.
Breathtaking beautiful blue hues present the illusion of coolness to the visitors and natives. The blue color negates the heat effect from the Sunlight. Hence the mosque acts as the home to many Sindhi locals on a hot afternoon during summers and provide shelter to them.

Regrettably, there are cracks growing in the walls and signs of aging are clearly visible in the building’s structure which depicts years of neglect. We don't see such beautiful architect nowadays. It is truly a beautiful monument and needs to be preserved.
