My dear Steemians, look how beautiful is this sandy desert! Taupe colored sands, neutral colors of summer, stones in different shades and forms and sizes. Below is a series of pictures of Palm Desert! Hope you like it my dear Steemians! ‘Til then!
That must be why they invented the saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
I tried to see it as you do, after all, I see the beauty in desert dunes...but all I felt is glad I do not live there. The one I saw some beauty in, is the picture of the hills.
Arthur, thanks for your input! But if you live in the greenery area, this is a beautiful scene to you! Colored sands are rare to find, but here with different shades of soil, you can create a sand art arrangement and rock arrangement just being here! I guess only artists can actually appreciate beauty beyond nature! Coz artist can recreate beauty from every form no matter how ugly it is to the eye of the beholder! Chao!
Thanks haritakurda, for the wondering question! Palm Desert, One possible origin of palm in the place name comes from early Spanish explorers who referred to the area as “La Palma de la Mano de Dios” or "The Palm of God's hand". The earliest use of the name "Palm Springs" is from United States Topographical Engineers who used the term in 1853 maps. And if you get here, you will see rows of Palms everywhere, and the desert sandy places as well!

I wonder why they called it a Palm Desert, it doesn't correspond to the two meanings of the word palm.
