It's summer and it's hot! Here are some photos to help you keep cool.
I took these pics in Montreal some years ago when they had their annual Winter Festival. My friend and I nearly missed out on this big outdoor exhibition because we had a tough time locating it; we wandered and wandered and almost gave up until we bumped into a security person there and got some directions! The park was huge and we went in the evening when the day festivities had wind down and no one was around!
The main attraction to check out there was the Snow Village or Ice Hotels. These are hand-carved hotels made of ice. Each bedroom consisted of a theme with massive detailed ice wall murals and beds carved from blocks of ice. A great number of rooms were illuminated with colourful lights. I just think, the amount of work and talent that went into all this work is incredible and moreover the artists having to withstand freezing Arctic weather in wintertime Montreal.
Tourists can book a night stay at these ice hotels. How amazing is that! There's also entertainment at the Snow Village where you can listen to live music, order a drink at the bar and I believe you could dine there too!
I froze just looking at the pictures
