Hi to all of you, I hope you have spent a nice week. If you are in Zurich not far away from mainstation on a hill in the heart of the city you will finde a historic peaceful park famous for the beautiful panoramic views over the old town , the Limat river and a part of thre financial district. The name come after the lime trees(Linden in german) very liked in summer for the shadow around. Many tourist and local come here for a break or only to take just a few photos.
The Limmat River originates from Lake Zurich passing through Dietikon and Baden before joining the Aare river. The River is a central part of the city and is spanned by several bridges not only functional also giving a city charm.
The park have also a historic significance, as it was once a Roman fort in the 4th century AD. As you walk throgh the park you can see many stone plaques and makers that highlight here the roman past. Today a serenety park with locals as well as torist alike with amazing views to the Grossmünster and Frauenmünster.
It is very easy to reach by a pleasant walk from the old town or from the main station.
Here from ZARA just folow the signs after you can follow the path up to the hill where the park is located. along the narrow cobbled streets lined with shops, cafesand historical buildings. After a few steps you are up on the plateau of the hill and you will be rewarded with the wonderful scenery.
and the way back down to the lake from where you can continue your journey by boat.
