his is the story of our honeymoon in Iceland in the month of December 2016, this is the fifth part of the blog. The next day we were traveling from Hotel Katla near Vik to Borgarnes Hotel , located in the village of Borgarnes. En-route we were to visit Drive to the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, site of the ancient Icelandic parliament and a jewel of nature. The park itself is situated in a stunning volcanic landscape of mountains and lava flows on the edge of Iceland's largest lake. Continue to Borgarfjordur fjord and visit the historic site of Reykholt, the remarkably beautiful Hraunfoss and Barnafoss waterfalls and Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe. We started at 9 AM it was pretty dark, and dtarted to climb downhill. I again would like to emphasize on the decency the drivers in Iceland. We reached Thingvellir National Park at around 11:40 AM, please see the pictures below
As the evening crept in we reached the hotel.
