Second attempt of writing this post...
I rarely write or take photographs these days, and I rarely do anything that would stress me out. All of that implies that I am exhausted on all levels, and that I am overwhelmed with information's of recent sad events.
Meanwhile, there was an attempt to get away from it all, which left me even more worn out.
Meanwhile my ID turned 34 years, it's sucks we are having each year only 6 hours for celebration. The party was not even on my mind in between of everything I had to do, all that mess caused to even forget on the cake!
Traditionally every year I'm making Pavlova, the first delicious fruits arrive in May, somewhat Pavlova is like the herald of spring. I completely forgot that Sunday is truly Sunday here, and that there is no work on Sundays so nothing is open, I am still getting adjusted to the surroundings.
On early Monday morning I was rushing around finding anything that can replace the birthday cake, already aware that none of the flavors out there will be THE ONE.
No party also means no gifts...
Except if... I got one two days before, while I was still on shortholidaywannabe. Dear darling called, a shipment had arrived for me, although I had checked the tracking app a couple of days earlier, and despite the fact that the a package was nowhere near me, it arrived at the right moment.
The box was put aside until May 8th.
The sun was already getting ready to set, the velvety light was seeping through the curtains.
A piece of linen dyed with coffee wrapped in dusty pink fabric, the first impression was the smell, followed by the dedication which blew me away at first, while the back of made me laugh out loud.

I am extremely grateful to know someone who believes so strongly in (fashion) reincarnation. I can't tell you much about the techniques as I'm a total amateur, but I can show you the tiny things that quickly gained my sympathies.
Skirt in A cut, with white thread hemmed edges, on the top of a bow is tied from the back, under which white buttons extend to the very bottom.
Buttoned or unbuttoned?
The most favorite part are the crossed back! I'm equipped for the warmest days and garden walk. Linen is also one of the most desirable materials for hot summer, aside from the fact that it requires ironing, which I'm not a fan of.
Dyeing the material with coffee?
Go for it, or any other alternative, the fabric will smell fantastic, and every season you will have the same combination in a different color.
Apron dress is ironed and hanged, still deciding will I mess it up while baking or will I combine it for some future market days, no matters how and where I am infinitely grateful for the gift, which I know for sure is handmade, in that lies all the preciousness, time and dedication.
I didn't want this birthday to be remembered only by bad things that happened, so I put on an apron and went outside to take some pictures, blow out the candles and make a wish before the sun went down.
Final days of 33 felt like a huge step out of my comfort zone, it was stressful, uncertain and charged with sensations... Happy to be alive, would probably tell everything I would like to say.

Ooooh, what a beautiful post and delicious photos, @alt3r ! And I am so excited to see the wonderful @kesityu.fashion 's divine apron!!! I am in the midst of a year of mastery of needlework, and aprons are one of my 'chosen subjects' - I love the overlap of apron-dress, and am about to begin a new project today, using a few different pieces from old deconstructed petticoats and underwear - and a vintage tablecloth with big dramatic Germanic religious script on it.
The dyeing is exciting too, @kesityu.fashion - I studied dyeing a little when I was younger, and was always passionate about natural dyes - like yellow from onion - and the fixing of the dye using salt and copper pans, etc. It's so good to see others' similar passion about such things - it inspires me a great deal. I'm a bit over-enthusiastic about getting inspired by life all the time, but things have been very challenging on multiple levels in recent years, and it is such a powerful anchor to be reminded of the magic of simple things, like aprons.

I will share indeed, @alt3r ! I ended up spending my sewing hours on Sunday adjusting my last apron-dress - and the more dramatic apron construction is a challenging thing, so it might take me a bit longer to work up my confidence to do it... But yes indeed: I'll share a post here about it when it's done. And yes, in my Scottish island culture, we had some good training at school too, around weaving, dyeing and suchlike - in the '70s/ 80s there was a big resurgence of the old arts and crafts in rural areas. 🤗
Don't be shy, there is no such a thing like perfection, but I do understand 'stage fright', so when you are ready!

Lucky you, wish we had similar subject here, but it was abolished back in the eighties from schools.

Oh, I have no idea - probably not - though I know of multifarious projects (on Arran where I grew up) that are bringing back traditional ways, skills - especially around the food cycles: community food-growing, sustainable fishing and culinary projects, fermenting, natural liquors, etc. A fair few folks that I was at school with, and who all left to find work/ travel the world, like me, have returned and are bringing their worldly knowledge and connectedness back to where they grew up - enriching the island culture by reviving the roots. This is very exciting - a second wave of what was begun in the 70s...
