While walking my boys to preschool we passed a child's sidewalk chalk art on our path. A two-by-two foot square was on the sidewalk with a message: When you step in this square, think of something you are grateful for.
In that spirit, I want to share how April has brought gratefulness to my life. My husband and I celebrate our birthdays in April, one week apart from each other. This year we really enjoyed ourselves. Here are some pictures.
My parents watched our boys overnight, and my hubby and I camped solo on our hill in the Texas Hill Country.
We saw country singer Cory Morrow at historic Kendalia Halle, and danced the night away.
We worked together to cut and mark a trail down our hill to a special place we call our Thinking Spot.
We admired the beauty of nature at the changing of the seasons. Here, new leaves bloom on a Texas Madrone tree. Love our wildflowers too--see below.
We assembled this bench, which also unfolds into a picnic table. It was a Christmas gift from my parents.
We enjoyed a fancy picnic lunch and good conversation, before packing up to head home and pick up our boys.
My mom told me she wants it to be an annual tradition to keep our boys so we can have a husband-wife getaway. It was an amazing gift that filled me with gratitude.
