“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.” ― Edward Abbey
The South West is easily one of my favorite places to get lost. There is freedom in the solitude, the time passes slowly, with the days lingering and long, spacious and free as the summers of childhood. An unplanned road trip in the summer of 2013 lead Tara and I through a variety of desert landscapes and experiences. Soaking in natural hot springs in New Mexico to sleeping under the new moon and the old stars of Utah. The highlight of the trip for me was canyoning in Zion National Park. Using technical rope skills to explore places that would otherwise be impossible. Beautiful slot canyons with 100 foot rappels into ice cold water on a scorching hot day, amazing.
