Hello, dear friends.
During my visit to Mexico City in 2015, I had the opportunity to visit a spectacular museum.
The Soumaya-Plaza Carso Museum is located in Polanco, Mexico City. It was inaugurated in 2011 by Carlos Slim, in honor of his wife, Soumaya Domit, who died in 1994.
Mexican architect Fernando Romero designed this museum. It has an area of 17,000 square meters and a height of 46 meters. The construction had an approximate cost of 47 million euros.
As you can see in the photo the structure is made of curved steel, really impressive.
Here are some of the artworks that I found most interesting:
At the entrance of this museum I was able to observe the ** single-seater of the Sahara Force India team ** for the 2015 "Formula One" championship.
_ "The Thinker" _ - Auguste Rodin (1880). This sculpture was conceived by Rodin for the door of a museum that would be inaugurated in Paris. This museum was not carried out for what _ "The Thinker"_ began to be presented individually.
"La Piedad" is a 19th-century foundry of the Martinelli House from the marble of 1498-1499 by Michelangelo Buonarroti, which preserves the Vatican.
Juchitan River is a Venetian mosaic adhered with ceramic terracotta cement created by Diego Rivera (1953 - 1956) in charge of the Reachí Garden, Cuernavaca, Morelos.
Christ of the Expiration anonymous Spanish-Filipino. Century XVIII
Asia in Ivory Collection more than 600 pieces make up this collection. Many of these works are by anonymous artists.
"Vision of San Juan in Patmos-Tenochtitlan, with San José and San Juan Nepomuceno" - Francisco Antonio Vallejo (1771). This composition includes the three main patrons of New Spain: San José, the Virgin of Guadalupe and San Juan Nepomuceno.
"Virgin of Guadalupe with the Four Apparitions" - Juan de Sáenz. This work represents four apparitions of the Virgin of Guadalupe; including the first appearance of the Virgin to San Juan Diego.
"Tebas Seated in a Chair" - Giacomo Manzi (1987)
"Profile of Time" - Salvador Dali (1977)
I hope you enjoyed this visit to this beautiful museum. I recommend visiting it if you have the opportunity.
A hug to everyone.
