It is called Koh Chang and it literally means Elephant island
It's not because elephants lived there (that was my first thought), but because it's shaped like an elephant head. 🐘
The beaches there are marvellous, with kilometeres of sand and lots of swings here and there. I love swings as you may have guessed from my photo 😏
We visited Koh Chang in low season, but were lucky to have quite a lot of sun anyway - it was mostly raining at night. Plus I believe there was much less people, we rarely saw anyone on our beach - Kai Bae.
Overall this island is very green and hilly, and it's a part of a national park. 70% of Koh Chang is covered in rainforests, mountains and beaches.
On this picture you can see 4 tiny islands, which we wanted to visit and do some snorkeling on a boat tour. That's when the raining season finally hit us XD - there was just a few drops in the morning, but when we went out to sea the rain hit us, so snorkeling was not very good...
But I still liked visiting the small islands, one of them had this great wooden boardwalk which I absolutely love - they give such a tropical vacation feel!
All photos taken by me and one taken by my tripod 😉
Stay tuned for more photos of Thailand!😇

We are on a 1-2 year adventure across North America. Maybe Thailand next...hmm..
Can you go anytime of year and is it always nice?
Thank you so much! =D
For most of Thailand, the wettest months are usually August-October, but it can be a bit different for certain areas, you should check. And it's super hot in April! There are also advantages of raining season too - less tourists and lower prices, and if you're lucky you can still have sunny days like I did, but it's not for sure ;)
North America sounds great by the way! Hope I can travel there someday too. Followed you :)

wow, beautiful place and great shots
Great post. It looks like a wonderful place to vacation. I'm not a beach person at all, but I would happily stroll along these beaches.
Wonderful photos that truly "give a feel of the place" , the warmth on the skin, the humidity.
Thank you! :) I like to stroll along beaches too and don't go for a swim that often - it seems like too much trouble getting dry and clean again afterwards XD
