My recent visit to the Fragata D. Fernando II e Glória (Frigate in English) resulted in plenty of photos from this historical ship. This is the last ship exclusively with sails from the Portuguese Navy and was built in India, having first sailed in 1843.
The frigate had to be partially restored in 1963 due to a huge fire, at a time when it wasn't sailing anymore, and it is now open to the public as some sort of museum, where everyone is able to see the place and the ways that these brave men lived in the XIX century.
Some life-size dolls were created to better show the costumes and the jobs from the people aboard the frigate, and the crew also included doctors, animals to provide fresh meat, and some of the crew members had to be disciplined in chains as well. Certainly not an easy time to live in :)
Thank you for taking a look at my photos and for reading my thoughts. If you enjoyed it and want to see more, don’t forget to upvote, resteem, comment and follow.
