This is my entry in the #landscapephotography Photo Contest initiated by @juliank and @photocontests.
In the photograph, a part of the Chama river valley, near the city of Mucuchies, at 2,980 meters above sea level. In the background, the Andes mountain range, with its numerous peaks and lagoons. This zone represents the upper basin of the Chama River, with high mountain climate, average annual temperatures of 11.6 ° C. These valleys are common geoforms of the Merida state, where alluvial fans and terraces can be observed. Populations that still live off agriculture, such as potatoes, garlic and tomatoes. The Mucuchies Lodge is also an attractive area for tourism, for its paramos and lagoons. In addition, a large part of the territory belongs to the "Sierra Nevada" national park, an environmentally protected area.
This photograph is taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 camera, in a geography field practice. I recognized different landforms, such as hills, hills, mountains, peaks, alluvial fans, valleys, in addition to the geology of the place. Quaternary material predominates at the bottom of the valley. In the background metamorphic material (Schist, Gneiss, Quartzite)
