Today the sun greeted us with its warmth so it was a perfect day to go outdoors and tidy up the garden.
I was delighted to see we have our tomatoes in full bloom and heavy with fruit!
The few strawberries left (thanks to my hens help in my garden) are blooming and showing signs of strawberries!
Even a few volunteer carrots peeked at me through the lemon thyme!
Mint, parsley, cilantro, sage, oregano and rye are growing beautifully! As well as my petite collection of scented pelargoniums I use the leaves to scent sugar with!
So happy for days like this! Even when I discover my hens escaping and getting into my Swiss chard! Now to pick some limes and make lunch!
I hope you are all having a lovely day!
What are you having for lunch?
In my new apartment I have a balcony now. I will grow tomatoes, (a lot of) cilantro, herbs, sweet potatoes, green beans, salat, Pak Choi and other stuff this year. I am already excited to harvest my own vegetables! Unfortunately citrus fruits like lime dont grow here :(
Oh I can only imagine the magic of your garden and the meals it will provide! Lovely, truly and I look forward to seeing it grow if you share it with us :)
Beautiful your garden @artedellavita

Pleasure meeting you! Nothing like hands working the soil and growing the food we have on our table no matter how big or small the patch of dirt is :)
Those tomatoes look great and are on their way.
Yes! They are a happy surprise! Lovely Wednesday to you friend!
When you see it grow up and finally with fruits its a feeling of soooo proud!! Its a... eyyy i was able to do it! If one day electricity falls in all world i could live for my own!!
Enjoy and have a great day!
Igualmente! Siempre es lindo poder crecer nuestra propia comida y surtir nuestra alacena :)
Buen dia y gracias por dejar su comentario!
eyyy so... you have prefered learn spanish than read my horrible english
¿Hablas español? o.. utilizaste google translate?
Tienes un buen conjunto de especias plantadas también!
Si soy, Italiana/Hispana. Español es mi primer idioma haha. Y tu ingles esta bien, no te preocupes :)
Althought is more difficult for me i prefer try to comment in english.
I dont want talk about a "cliche" but watching those plants and knowing you are Italian i thought in a amazing pasta food with an home made pomodoro sauce
And looking how you take care for all details i'm pretty sure you cook an amazing pasta food with the perfect point of boiling and the perfect fusion of flavours in the souce... perhaps cooking is not so different of writting texts...
Yes, I love cooking my own pasta and sauces. Every sauce has it's own pasta and every pasta it's own story. :)
Ooooh, lovely tomatoes and strawberries to look forward to.
Thank you! I just hope my strawberries don't get a surprise dinner date from my hens!
That would be sad and the girls have had enough adventure for a while. Fingers crossed you get there first!
I admire your garden so much! You work so hard, and it looks so rewarding!
Aww what a sweet thing to say! Thank you friend!
You certainly have the green thumb. Love all the herbs in the garden. If I could grow one thing well it would be tomatoes, nothing better then home grown ones.
Those naughty hens🐓
Tomatoes grow on their own here, the only "pests" are the feral rats (which gross me out) and my hens haha So I have to make sure they don't get near my pottage.
I agree, homegrown tomatoes are divine!
I wish I had a green thumb, you certainly do!
I think we all do! Try growing rosemary and chives those are hard to kill, just don't overwater them and give them some sunlight.
You'll be surprised!
Are you saying , this is happening... now? I definitely live in the wrong place :-/
Nothing better than having your own food from your own garden. Unfortunately, here it will still be a while. Yours looks great 😍
Yes, the rain and mild weather allow us to grow year round. Southern California has a very mild climate.
Thank you and sending sunshine your way!
i love the picture of your plant, may i follow you, thank you.
