The Coastal Waterway, Part I
I'm back with another series of photos taken during a walk in the park in late February. These were taken adjacent to one of the inland waterways near the Atlantic coast of the southeastern United States. It was a cool and sunny, late winter day. The sun was shining bright, there was a light breeze, and plenty of locals were out with their friends, family, and pets.
Here is what my wife and I saw during our walk...
As we approached the start of the trail, this was the view.
Now we were on the trail and heading north. This was the view looking east.
On the path, there were painted footprints of various local animals, such as raccoons, armadillos, alligators...and even snakes!
Look up!
It's a tree.
The canopy was pretty thin.
Bark!
No...I'm not trying to act like a dog. It's tree bark, silly. From a pine tree.
The sun was blazing.
We walked a super-long plank, heading east...
A view to the north...
The boardwalk continued, but where will it take us?
Come back for the second part of the series to find out what happens next!
Disclaimer: I'm not sure how exciting it will be to see the photos, but they're at least nice to look at, right?
All photos taken with my iPhone 6s

nice place! That phone takes good pictures.
following.
Those are amazing. Camera phone's sure have come a long way. I live in the south eastern part of the states. Very pretty country. Awesome photos! Happy steeming.
I am gonna take a wild guess.....Florida?
wow, amazing place, it is incredible.
I never seem to get this clear of pictures from my iphone! Where is this? Georgia?
Close!
I don't know the trick to the phone pictures, but everyone keeps saying that they can't believe these were taken with a phone camera. Maybe it's just me? :)
I don't trust that boardwalk. Were you ambushed at the end?
Yes. By an alligator and a bear. We died.
So sad to hear. Glad you were resurrected!
Great pics! I like to walk in my local park as well, It's a great way to spend time.
Awesome pict @ats-david
Very strange these pines ... very high!
Rad muffin tops!!!
Great pics! I know I've been to that park before just can't think of the name. Is that Weedon Island Preserve? I know it's at least in Florida, right?
Nope. Not Weedon Island Preserve. (Never heard of that one. I'll have to look it up.)
I know I've seen those paths with the prints before, just can't remember where
Adventures in Florida #1: Culpepper Bend on the Econlockhatchee RiverI think you'll like this other location too @ats-david, it's a scenic Florida hike as well! Could use an upvote from someone like you if you see fit.

Amazing! It seems that thousands of kilometers were not one person. I would love to have enjoyed that silence! I think those are the little things that you have to enjoy and that are the ones that really matter. Beautiful place, my friend.
Pd: I imagine you had sunscreen... That sun looked very strong.
Nature the best place to relax.

This is a great post! You have a good camera and all the pictures are .. wow!! Upvoted and followed!
Very good photos. I am really stunning what an iphone 6s does for a good picture quality.
Thanks for sharing :-)
nice shots, and what an amazing picture quality from the iPhone there! First it seemed to me that most images, maybe except for #7 which shows some amount of sun-flare caused by the remaining obvious physical limitations of such a tiny camera), were indeed taken by a much more "sophisticated" or at least a good point-and-shoot camera...
Anyway, what matters are the shots you captured and the image composition which I like! All the better that you were even "traveling" (or rather walking) light there :)
Beautiful walk! Thanks for these great photos!
Very nice photos - The trees are very different from the ones we find here in Brazil. I love nature photos.
