The Foxes of Walrus Island' prey on the abundance of sea birds and their the respective eggs #steemitphotochallenge

Fixed wireless repeater site, stemming from a satellite connection

Walrus island was full of shale, rocks essentially held together by grass

Ip Video Webcam ^ Rock anchored amongst the ledge

The diameter of the steep, jagged island is 1x2 miles long, with rough unforgiving terrain

A possible relic left behind before the Yupik people? I think so, the other 2 crew members did not agree

Even knowing Walrus Island was once inhabited by man 5,000 - 6,000 years ago, followed by a different group now known as the Yupic, 2,500 years ago.

Hi Guys

^ As a past student of geography, I always take a few moments along the way to respect the local land formation. I try to connect the natural formations like a puzzle. This was a unique 'quartz knuckle,' with ice still intact. Does anyone know what the purple rock is? Looks and feels like basalt. > ?

Here is a quick snapshot from March 2017 of the power hub. We built and shipped this puppy via helicopter...... More to come.

Thanks @Cainplant

Wow! Great stuff! The foxes seemed very curious haha, you got some great pictures of them! That's amazing that such a small island could have such a deep past, I wonder if those were some arrowheads?! And that purple rock is certainly a mystery to me! Thanks for sharing this awesome post, can't wait for your next installment! 👍
