Another Friendly Roadrunner crosses my path

Its always a treat for me to see a Roadrunner in Arizona. I have seen many Roadrunners and it never gets old. This guy was pretty mellow and allowed me to follow him up to a cactus that he perched in. I took a series of photos and created a gif that shows him raising his feathers. I also captured a short video that I will post on LBRY later. I sometimes see them eating lizards and insects depending on what opportunities cross their way.

The baby's are pretty ugly looking when they first hatch and I have only seen one nest with babies in it a long time ago. If I ever find another nest I will be sure to get some photos. Its been hot as hell her lately, but that is not unusual for this time of year. We all just wait for the monsoons to replenish water and keep the native plants and animals alive.

What do you think of Roadrunners?

Up until your post, this was the only RoadRunner I had ever seen.

It sure does a good job being camouflaged in the cactus.

Glad I was able to introduce you to your first Roadrunner.
