My Adventure in Thailand --- Koh Wai Island Part 2 its hard to be crabby when you are on a remote tropical island.

in #photography8 years ago

This is a follow up to my post My Adventure in Thailand --- Koh Wai Island Part 1 lets continue with the adventure. The job in IT I decided to leave was good but the stress was killing me and I needed to rethink things. I was fortunate not to be married or have any kids, otherwise this story would never have happened. I purchased my tickets made plans to get the cheapest bungalow on the beach with no frills. When I finally arrived in Bangkok I was freaked out by how wild the traffic was. It looked and felt like a chaotic symphony that somehow worked in perfect harmony. I was happy to be headed out of Bangkok the next day and on to the remote tropical island.Koh Wai.jpg

I had never experienced anything like this and I just started taking pictures with my little point and shoot camera. The stress I had before just melted away and things became clearer. I felt like I was taking part in life instead of just passing through it. My room was basic, the shower was ice cold and the weather was hot and everything was perfect.

I did find one crabby fellow and realized he had a viable reason for being that way.

The view from the pier house was epic and I spent much of my time enjoying the amazing view while listening to the relaxing sounds of the waves below.

During low tide some interesting creatures could be seen frolicking in the mud.

In the end it was the best decision I ever made and ended up doing temp IT when I returned home so I could go back a second time. Temp work turned out to be the biggest blessing since the pay was better and you did not get locked down for long periods of time. The story continues, but for fear of putting anyone to sleep I thing this is a good place to end it for now.

Thank you, do you have a favorite photo?

very nice photos and information...good Job :)

Thank you, it was really an adventure of a lifetime for me!

I believe you, I wish I could be at this wonderful place ...

Thailand transforms you, it's unavoidable, I know the feeling all to well! And the basic room and accommodation doesn't even matter at that point, as you say you realized that you were now living life instead of just being in it. And everything was just perfect as it was! Wonderful photos and story @azfix.

Thanks @sandstorm glad you enjoyed the story and can relate.

Your welcome @azfix, and I can relate very much so :)

Not getting married the best decision of every mans life.

Amen

Neither of you know what you are talking about.

Are you looking to stay in Thailand like a digital nomad? I'm surprised that you managed to find Koh Wai out of all the tourist places there. And I'm from Thailand myself.

I would eventually like to end up in Thailand more permanently, and yes Koh Wai is not the typical tourist destination. I prefer places that not a lot of tourists visit

How's the internet there? I've been to Koh Chang once. Looking to visit more islands. And thank you for posting pictures of the place.

Its been a while since I last visited, but the last time I was at that location they had satellite internet. I stayed at Koh Wai Pakrang its on a small island with three or four other resorts on that island. I know at least two of them had internet when I was staying. The accommodations are very simple, but perfect for me.

Beautiful island and wonderful scenery with crystal sea and blue sky! And interesting story! Great! ;)

Glad you like it! :)

Amazing scene Thailand is beautiful country.

Thank you, I agree
