Your mother is quite the gardener, and you are a pretty good photographer. It is almost spring for us in Alaska, so soon to maybe be getting some plants out, and photos, of them in two months. Once they start to grow, they really grow in Alaska.

We are almost out of the freeze phase, temperature overnight hovering right around the freezing point. 30F to 34F overnight temps. So another two weeks Should be safe for plants.
I don't know how you do it cause I don't think I'd survive it.
You adapt, acclimate, the first two years are tough, then the third winter when it's sunny outside and no wind 32F degrees is t-shirt weather.
