Short introduction to post production in photography.

This photo would be considered dramatic compared to its RAW format, and that is the beauty of shooting in RAW so that you will be able to tweak photos in post.

It is amazing what a few minor settings to exposure and masking brush can do to dramatically change a photograph.
The following ara a few extreme examples of the post editing just to give you an idea.

The best option is to get the shot right in camera to give you the most realistic expression as you would find in real life. As you improve as a photographer, the more you will achieve the same result in camera as what you desire from post production.

I loved working in RAW format when I still had a camera. The options are HUGE

Agreed, there is so much that can be edited in RAW that is why I also only shoot RAW, it allows for creativity but more importantly, as an amature photographer I can fix mistakes easily.

I, too, was an amateur photographer...sadly I had to sell all my stuff...
