There was an early evening in Venice I will never be able to forget. No matter there were so many tourists running up and down on the steep small streets, there was a fragrance in the air, there was something so magical and special, something I guess very universal, which brings people over and over again back to that little spot of land in the water.
Here you will see some of the sunset impressions I took and will read some of my personal advice to those, who have never been there.
Rent an apartment instead of a hotel room.
Bring only comfortable shoes.
By the way, that ship passed by in a blink of an eye. I turned around because I thought it was burning. The sun was reflecting so strong on the huge machine.
If you don't have a flashlight on your phone, bring one;). Some streets might be very dark at night.
When the stores close, you might get confused where is your location, they look very different when open and closed due to the metal doors they pull in front of them.
- Visit places where the locals go. Get away from the most touristic areas, or visit them in times with fewer visitors. You can simply call the location and ask them when that might be.
- If you want to visit some of the main attractions, get tickets much earlier in advance online.
- Houses in Venice are numbered according to districts, not streets. This makes it difficult to find addresses. Just have a look for a monument, shop, or an important building in close proximity.
- Visit Murano, Burano & Lido
- Venice has almost no cars, it is easier to get there by train straight to Santa Lucia. Parking garages are very expensive.
- You will be charged a fee for cups, glasses, and everything you use in a restaurant. The transportation is also not cheap. If your budget is very tight it might be hard for you to enjoy it.
- One days is for sure way too short, you will be only stressed out.
- You will need some patience.
Mornings are the best time to enjoy the city and take photos. Have a look also at the local churches. They are very beautiful.
A glass blowing demonstration is wonderful to observe. In Murano & Burano you will find almost the same things as in Venice but cheaper.
This was it;)
Have a fantastic day or evening
Colorful greeting
Bella
