I believe the answer is clear, if a major power outrage happened people in suburban eras would still survive to some extent, but the toll on peoples lives in major cities would be catastrophic. I am talking millions in a matter of weeks. That is how fragile our society is even though we tend to think we own it.

I tend to agree with you. Major cities would be horrible places to be. I've always wondered though what constitutes a major city. Population sizes vary in different countries and what's consider large in one country is a small town to another.

I believe, you can put it like this. If you cut supply to supermarkets and the city is starving in three days it can be called a major city :)

That's a very simple and logical way to look at it.

In the final end it all comes to a very simple things i believe...
