The Super Man-Blood Eating WereWolf Moon - As Seen Through A Telescope

Not a very large telescope, perhaps more of a hunting spotters scope.. decently powerful for observing flying predators and the like.. but this time well suited for observing the Total Lunar Eclipse we witnessed last night in North America.

Much like the images from the hawk the other day, this time I placed my smartphones camera up to the single eye hole of the telescope.. and after much steadying and struggling to find the right line of sight.. we found the moon through the eye piece with the smartphone camera. It was much easier and enjoyable to simply look through the eye piece with my own eyes.. but then of course I could not share it with you.

Be it grainy and what not, I am not unimpressed with what I captured. And with an edit or two, the color and clarity is almost perfect. Just not quite focused completely.. but hey it was really tough to stabilize..

Very bizarre, the colors the moon takes on, only once it is fully engulfed by the Earth's shadow.. what we see is the moon passing through the shadow of the earth's penumbra and into the umbra part of the shadow..

There was not much hype behind this Total Lunar Eclipse the whole United States was able to witness. Although the temperatures around the nation were beyond cold.. and the wind here in the Northeast following this recent storm is whipping like they have for the past 6 months, except near 0 degrees F.. a lot of people still had gotten out to see the eclipse and red moon with their own two light receptors.. I had the fortune of spotting the moon directly through a roof window, inside my house still where it remained warm and cozy.

Not sure if there was any occultic significance to this Eclipse either.. perhaps there would be someone else out there who could enlighten us.. interesting times we live in.

Stay safe everyone!

First good photos of the blood moon I have seen.

At our place we could not see the blood moon for the clouds.

We did get to see part of the eclipse threw the clouds.
