RE: Principle ...presented by Bleujay...

Greetings @dubble ,

At David Austin Roses they are very helpful with advising just the right rose for the garden spot of your choosing...I would suggest ordering their Handbook of Roses 2025...although the same information is online. The information you will need is there in its totality and you will want to read it again and again.

There are some roses that perform better than others...first I choose the colour and size and then go from there.

You queried..Do you find them hard to care for? They have their idiosyncrasies...and once you learn those, caring for them is a breeze.

  • Need a sunny location...
  • Need pruning
  • Need regular watering, just not too much.

Spring is a bustling time for Roses and a good time to plant...almost every nursery carries DA Roses and DA Roses also delivers the plant either in a container or as the root plant.

Thank you for your kind wishes. ^__^

Hello my friend! @bleujay

Thank you for all the suggestions It's much appreciated!

It's hard for me in the UK as a lot of the beautiful plants, roses and such can't handle our tempetures and weather conditions! such a shame, so I always have to do research into which plants could survive the cold, rainy and dark seasons we have for most of the year 😂

Not a lot of Roses can survive sadly! But if you are lucky they will just wither and will re-bloom during the warmer seasons!

Best wishes my friend!
