RE: Principle of the Day.....presented by Bleujay

in #photography5 days ago (edited)

Greetings @peaceandmoney ,

Thank you for dropping by for a cuppa. ^__^

Let me begin by explaining what motivated bringing this Principle to Hive.

There are those in our Community who are really having a hard time accepting that people on Hive can post, earn and sell their Hive if they so desire.

That being said...I think the attitude to have, is that whilst one may disagree with this practice of one's freedom as it relates to the Community...is the application of this principle....keeping in mind that people are entitled to their thinking as long as it is not criminal, of course.

Okay...if we are not happy about said action so what can we do. This principle suggests changing the way I view this activity.....Well it is not against the rules, is it...no! It is not criminal is it...no! Then let it be. 'Freedom' is more important than my opinion.

As always I appreciate having the opportunity to dialogue over the Principle...thank you!

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Thank you @bleujay for this comprehensive response.

In relation to the ongoing Hive debate about the way people use their stake and when they wish to cash out their funds I see the point you're making. Yes, there is a difference of opinion when it comes to this subject but, just like you, my belief is that freedom must prevail and if people wish to sell their stake at any stage of the game then so be it, they are entitled to do so without negative judgement.

However, in the context of the principle we have been exploring, imagine I held the belief that people should not power down and cash out their Hive anytime they wished and should adopt a more disciplined approach to their stake and I then actively went out into the community to enforce that view, in that I literally forced it onto others, then this would be a step too far and unacceptable. The moment I did that would be the moment I should consider taking a look at myself and changing my own opinion.

A very interesting debate @bleujay, as it always is with you!
